Never do it in the favorite country of Poles. You'll get unlucky

Poles have their favorite holiday destinations – Croatia, Egypt, Greece and of course Türkiye. It is the latter country that it is worth remembering the appearance of a trivial thing that can bring bad luck – and fate is not worth tempting on vacation.

Each country has its superstitions, some are more universal and also found in other countries, and some may only apply to a specific region. When choosing to Turkey, it is worth knowing the superstition, according to which you can get unlucky. Such behavior may surprise the inhabitants.

What is better not to do? There is a superstition saying that items such as a knife and scissors should not be reached. This will bring bad luck, and also make us quarrel with the person whom we gave this item. Instead of straight to hand, it should be laid on the table, countertop, plate, soil or other flat surface so that the other person can freely raise it. This also applies when you are directly asked for a knife or scissors.

The most popular talisman that can be found at almost every stand is the blue eye of the Prophet (Nazar Boncuk). This item is to protect against unlucky and bring prosperity if it breaks, it means that he fulfilled his task and protected a person in a situation that could bring him misfortune, e.g. when serving scissors from hand.

A slightly more original way speaks of the need to plant a fig in front of the house of a person through whom we were misfortune – interestingly, if you believe the superstition, cutting him can also bring bad luck. It was supposed to be a kind of playing on a person who is not favorable to us.
