Petistas from Acre campaign 'Volta Binho' and former governor can be surprised in 2026

Those who follow the backstage of Acrean policy know that strong names do not disappear from the memory of the electorate. This is exactly what is happening to former governor Binho Marques. Petistas from Acre have started, in recent weeks, a spontaneous campaign with the slogan “Volta Binho”. And the detail is that Binho himself seems to have liked the idea.

It’s no less. Marques left Rio Branco Palace with one of the largest approvals in the state’s recent history. His government is remembered by technical management, marked mainly by the commitment to education – an area in which he built his career and consolidated a faithful base, which to this day treats it as a reference.

In Brasilia, where he became one of the most important names in the history of the Ministry of Education, Binho has always maintained a discreet stance on local politics. But the recent movement stirred the game: for the first time in a long time, he has again publicly positioned himself about Acre’s management and future. A clear sign that, even far, remains linked to the roots.

If Binho Marques accepts the call, the impact can be deep. Its name is competitive by nature, capable of uniting part of the PT and dialogue with broader sectors of society.

Deep down, what is at stake is not just the return of a former governor, but the possibility of reopening a political cycle that seemed ended. And from what you see, the main interested party is no longer silent.

Another name that may surprise

If “Volta Binho” animates petistas in Acre, another name also begins to circulate as a possible surprise in 2026: Naluh Gouveia, advisor to the State Court of Auditors and former State Deputy.

Unlike Binho Marques, who spent years away from the political scene, Naluh never ceased to position himself. Even in the TCE, it gained a reputation for being a stone in the shoe of politicians and managers, always vocalizing criticism and charging transparency.

Now behind the scenes, the information is that she would be determined to return to the legislature. And if confirmed, it will shake the dispute: it has experience, visibility and still carries the coping DNA that marked its trajectory in the PT.

Thor’s challenge

Pre-candidate for the government by PCdoB, Thor Dantas faces the biggest challenge of his short but ascending political career: joining the left in Acre.

Despite, in theory, with the support of the PT and the PV, other progressive field acronyms – such as PSOL, PDT, PSB and Network – seem to aim different stands to 2026. This fragmentation can reduce the unit speech range and make it difficult to build a broad front capable of facing the force of the right in the state.

The message that runs behind the scenes of course: To make your candidacy viable, Thor needs to prove that he can sew alliances beyond paper and turn support statements on a real front.

On the other hand …

Unlike Thor, who still needs to prove articulation capacity, former governor Binho Marques emerges as a natural name to unify the left in Acre-if I decide to return to the game in 2026.

During his management, Binho was not only able to gather PT, PCdoB and PV, but also attract acronyms from the center to his base. It was a period when the government coalition remained solid and guaranteed political stability.

Therefore, among the leftist parties, there are those who see in Binho a kind of “shortcut” to avoid internal divisions and repeat a broad alliance. In other words: If he really resurfaces from the ashes, he can be the only one who can put everyone on the same stage.
