Trump announces sending troops to Portland to deal with "domestic terrorists"

Since the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the Republican president has intensified efforts to face what he calls the “radical left”, which he blames for the country’s problems with political violence

United States President Donald Trump announced this Saturday the sending of troops to Portland, Oregon, to deal with “domestic terrorists.”

The announcement was made on social networks, writing that he was instructing the Defense Department to “provide all the necessary troops to protect Portland, devastated by war.”

“I am also authorizing the use of total force if necessary,” he said.

Trump justified the decision because it was necessary to protect the facilities of the US immigration and customs agency, which described “under the siege of antifa attacks [movimento antifascista] and other domestic terrorists ”.

Since the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the Republican president has intensified efforts to face what he calls the “radical left,” which he blames for the country’s problems with political violence.

In early September, Trump described his life on Portland “how to live in hell” and said he was considering sending federal troops, as he recently threatened to fight crime in other cities, including Chicago and Baltimore.

In summer, the National Guard of Los Angeles highlighted as part of his police intervention in Columbia district.

At Tennessee, Memphis has been preparing for a trop of national guard troops, and on Friday, republican governor Bill Lee said they will be part of reinforcement of funds to combat crime in the city.
