The former first lady (PL) said on Saturday (27) that she does not intend to dispute the Presidency of the Republic in 2026. During an event of PL Woman in Ji-Paraná (RO), she stated that her goal is to be “first lady” and asked for support for (PL) candidacy. The former president, however, is ineligible and is under house arrest after conviction by the Federal Supreme Court () to 27 years and 3 months in prison for involvement in the 2022 coup plot.

“We will work to reelect our President Jair Messias Bolsonaro, because I don’t want to be president, no. I want to be a first lady,” Michelle said. She also stated that she can represent her husband, “If he wants, I will be his voice in the four corners of the nation.” In the speech, he criticized measures determined by the minister, such as the use of electronic anklet and police magazines held at the family residence. “Not even a drug dealer and bandit is having the treatment that I am having today in my house,” he said.
