The Public Security Police (PSP) detained, on Sunday morning, a man who broke into a mosque, armed with two knives, threatened religious and destroyed part of the temple in the Damaia region of Amadora.
The suspect, a 22 -year -old man, has been threatened with death and caused significant damage inside the mosque, including the destruction of windows and other goods, “according to witnesses who spoke to the PSP.
“The main victim, one of the religious guardians, was able to protect herself barricly in a compartment until the arrival of the PSP,” adds the police force.
The man was arrested and must be present the first judicial interrogation in the competent court, on suspicion of crimes of aggravated threat and qualified damage.
