China continues the anti -corruption campaign by the death penalty for the ex -minister of agriculture. The case shows that punishment is really hard to high -ranking officials.
The former Chinese Minister of Agriculture was sentenced on Sunday to death penalty for two years for charges of corruption, the court statement said. TASR informs according to AFP report.
According to the indictment, Thanhang of the woman, from 2007 to 2024, received cash and property bribes totaling more than $ 268 million ($ 38 million), a court in Čhang-Chchun said in the Northeastern Province of JY-LL.
A strict verdict of the court
The court ruled that these bribes “caused particularly serious losses of the interest of the state and the people, and therefore deserved the death penalty”, adding that Tchang had confessed to his crimes and expressed regret.
Tchang’s condemnation is the latest step in the extensive anti-corruption campaign of President Si Jin-Pching, who has deprived the post of several high-ranking personalities of the country, recalls DPA.
