The ruler Party Action and Solidarity (PAS), supporter of the European course of Moldova, leads the parliamentary elections with 41% of the votes, according to the first results offered by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of the country, without knowing even if this result will be sufficient for the PAS to continue in power.
After the scrutiny of almost 40% of ballots, secondly, the opposition patriotic electoral block is located, which defends the strengthening of ties with Moscow and obtains the support of 30% of the voters.
They are followed by the alternative block, with 7.75% of the votes, and the Democracy Party at home, with 6.91%. It is unknown at the moment if the official party will have the necessary seats to govern alone, as it did after the 2021 elections.
The elections were marked by high citizen participation, inside and outside the country, and crossing accusations between the government and the opposition about attempts to manipulate the voter vote.
Precisely the vote of the Moldova proeuropera diaspora was key in 2024 to carry out the referendum on the entrance to the European Union (EU), an objective that Guginau wants to meet by 2030.
