The leaves from the neighbor’s trees are flying to your plot? Check what you can do

In autumn, the leaves create colorful rugs in courtyards, pavements and streets. Their sight can be charming, but they can pose a threat, especially when they are wet and slippery. In the end, you have to get them to keep order around our home. Check who should clean the leaves according to the regulations.

According to Polish law, the owner should clean his property, even if the leaves fall from a tree growing at the neighbor. That is why we have to crash them and throw them to the right place, but more on that later.

The situation is different when the branches of the neighbor’s tree enter our area. Then we can cut them, after informing. Of course, cleaning such plant waste lies in our duty.

However, we can ask a neighbor for help. It is worth getting along and establish a common at one time or a division of obligations to change, e.g. on weekends.

The situation is the same when it comes to cleaning the leaves from the pavement. The Act on maintaining order and cleanliness in municipalities clearly says that the owner of the property should ensure the purity of the fragment in front of it. So we have to clean it from sand, snow and leaves.

Even if the leaves on the pavement come from a tree growing further, we still have to clean them. Otherwise, we can expect a ticket.

The owner of the property does not have to clean the leaves from the street. This obligation belongs to the road manager, i.e. to the commune or to the city. The services must clean the streets and export green waste.

We can throw ranted leaves into bio waste. The services collect green waste on the deadlines.

Nothing prevents you from throwing the leaves into the composter. A compost will be created from them when we mix them with other organic residues.

Large amounts of leaves are accepted by a selective waste collection point. Under no circumstances are their palm trees, because it is harmful to health and threatens a fine.
