The City Hall of Cruzeiro do Sul held this Sunday, 28, the traditional civic-military parade in celebration of the 121 years of foundation of the municipality. The event took place at the Cultural Center Square and brought together thousands of people at a time marked by civility, history and emotion.
The ceremony began at 17h, with the raising of the flags of Brazil, Acre and Cruzeiro do Sul, to the sound of the National Anthem and the Cruzeiro do Sul Anthem, in the presence of Governor Gladson Cameli, Mayor Zequinha Lima, the commander of the 61st Jungle Infantry Battalion, Colonel Matias, deputy Mayor Delcimar Leite, as well as state deputies and other authorities.

More than 80 institutions participated in the parade, opened by the Armed Forces, Army, Navy and Air Force, followed by military schools, Military Police, Fire Department and Civil Police. Then, the municipal, state and high school schools paraded, as well as city and state bodies, philanthropic and community institutions.
Mayor Zequinha Lima highlighted the importance of union and work for the development of the city. “Cruzeiro do Sul has a very beautiful story, built by a hardworking and warrior people. What we hope is that progress will continue. I love this land and I will continue to work to bring more investments, so that our people live better and better and we can always be proud to call cruise southern princess of the Juruá Valley,” he said.

Governor Gladson Cameli stressed the symbolism of the date and reaffirmed his commitment to his homeland: “Cruzeiro do Sul is a diamond of Acre, the city where I was born, grew and studied. It is up to us, together, City Hall, State Government, Federal Government and all representatives, work together to develop the region increasingly.”
The commander of the 61st BIS, Colonel Matias, recalled the participation of the army in the history of the municipality. ”The army has a great importance for the development of Cruzeiro do Sul, since the 1960s with the arrival of the 7th Construction Engineering Battalion, which helped open roads, streets and even the first airport in the city. Participating in this parade is a way to reaffirm the integration between the Army and society Cruzeirense. ”

Residents also made a point of honoring the moment. Cruzeirense Maiqueline Rodrigues stated that the parade is a tradition awaited by all. “It’s a very special day for our society, to celebrate the history and security of our people.”
Deise Melo took her son to accompany the programming. “It’s a unique, very significant moment. I make a point of bringing my son to live this experience.”
Cirlene da Silva highlighted the symbolism of the date. “Each year is a moment of renewal and hope of better days. May God touch the hearts of the authorities so that they will look lovingly to our city.”

The parade ended the program of celebrations of the 121 years of Cruzeiro do Sul. Throughout the week, the city promoted several commemorative actions, such as inaugurations of schools and public equipment, sports, cultural and social activities. There was the inauguration of the new bus station, the final of the Juruá Valley, sports events and, finally, with races and the parade this Sunday.
