The visit to the Forest marked the beginning of the official program of the event, which will continue until Wednesday (1st), in Rio Branco, with business rounds bringing together 76 companies from the Northern Region, 44 from Acre, and foreign buyers interested in products compatible with the forest.

In immersion, visitors closely learned about the reality of extractive communities and the richness of acrea biodiversity. They were welcomed by rubber tapper Francisco Assis Monteiro, leaders such as Júlio Barbosa, president of the National Council of rubber tappers (CNS), Sebastião Aquino, president of Cooperxapuri, and by local residents, who shared stories of resistance and valuing the forest standing.

Jorge Viana highlights forest potential and the growth of exports in Acre

The president of ApexBrasil, Jorge Viana, stressed the symbolism of starting the programming within the forest.

“We brought buyers from all over the world to know what is most precious in the Amazon: its forest and its people. It is a way of showing that it is possible to generate sustainable business, strengthen communities and, at the same time, preserve biodiversity. This is the differential we want to highlight in the world.”

He also highlighted the importance of Acre and the Amazon in the scenario of Brazilian exports.

“We are bringing together buyers from 18 countries, people from India, China, Russia, the United States, Europe, among others, to connect with more than 70 companies, 30 only from Acre. We are talking about strategic productive chains such as nuts, flour, handicrafts, coffee, acai and meat. This is Brazil we want to present to the world: creative, sustainable and competitive. It has helped Brazil to face challenges such as tariff, expanding opportunities for our products. ”

Commenting on the results of Acre, Viana recalled that the state is experiencing a historic moment in exports.

“When I was governor, we went from scratch and reached $ 20 million a year in exports. After many years, this number doubled, but today, at Apex, we were able to make a leap: last year we have gone from $ 87 million, and only mid -year we already reached $ 70 million. I have no doubt that we will reach $ 100 million by 2025, the biggest record in the history of Acre.
