Russia accused the Moldovan leadership on Monday of defending Moldovan citizens living in Russia to cast their votes in the Moldovan parliament. He writes TASR.

As DPA informed, the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov came up with this claim, complaining on Monday at briefing that Moldova opened only two polling stations in Russian territory. According to the Kremlin, this capacity was not sufficient and thus could not vote for hundreds of thousands of people.

The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on the election day that only 5,000 ballots were available in each of the two polling stations. The Ministry justified this with unspecified security reasons.

In the capital they called a protest

Russia criticized the absence of such restrictions in EU countries in its response to elections in Moldova. According to the government in Kišinov during the elections to the Moldova Parliament abroad – in the EU and other Western countries – more than 276,000 citizens voted. Most of them voted in favor of the pro -European forces.

According to the Moldovan Central Election Commission, the majority in the parliament in the elections was received by the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) pro -European President Maie Sandu, who accused Russia of massive interference in Moldova elections, including buying votes, disinformation and cyber attacks before voting. Patriotic block (BEP), supported by Moscow and led by former Moldovan President Igor Dodon, finished second in the elections with 24 percent for the passport.

On Monday, Dodon convened a protest of people dissatisfied with the outcome of the elections, where only a few dozen people gathered. In his speech, Dodon complained that many people were prevented to vote. In particular, he pointed out the case of the Separatist region of Transnistria, which is internationally unrecognized by the state and where Russian soldiers are deployed. However, Dodon urged his supporters to avoid provocations.

Blames the votes from abroad

“The ruling Passport Party, like President Maia Sandu in the presidential election, won again thanks to the votes abroad. In the home polling stations, she gained only 44 percent, while the entire opposition of 49.5 percent of the votes.

According to him, complaints about the Central Committee on the Central Committee on the infringement of the Election Act, including the ban on the entry of observers into the polling stations and the inability to vote for 200,000 citizens from the left bank of the Dnester River, have already been filed. “If the Commission refuses to respond, we will follow the law,” Dodon said.

Overall, the Moldovan Parliament managed to get five parties and blocks. In addition to Passport and BEP, it is also a coalition alternative led by Mayor Kišinov Ion Ceban and unsuccessful presidential candidate Alexander Stoianogl, voted by almost eight percent of eligible voters. With a profit of 6.2 percent, our party, which was founded by the entrepreneur Renato USATII, will also get to Parliament. The smallest entity in the new legislature will be the Democracy Party at home supporting the unification of Moldova with Romania. The vote was handed over to 5.6 percent of Moldovan voters.
