Ana Sátila opens the Slalom Canoeing World Championship with the bronze medal

Brazilian Ana Sátila won the bronze medal on the first day of the Slalom Canoeing World Cup in Australia. In the Kayak Cross Test Test, held on Monday (29), the athlete was in third position to climb the podium for the fourth time in her career.

Ana closed her participation in the race with the time of 63s23, a brand that placed her in the first three placed. The title in the female was with Switzerland Alena Mark, with 62s09, while Slovenna Ajda Novak (63s07) took the silver medal.

“I started on the right foot this World Cup in Australia. I am very happy with this medal on the first day. Those who followed know that I had a whirlwind of events this year, but God knows what he does. Now we have an intense week ahead and count on the support of all of you,” said the canoeist of Brazil.

He returned to the World Championship podium after seven years. In 2018, in the edition held in Rio de Janeiro, she won the Cayque Cross race and won her first and only gold medal. In the previous year, in 2017, the miner took a silver and a bronze at the event that took place in Pau, France.

Now Ana returns to the waters of Sydney on Tuesday (30), at 00h42 (Brasília), to participate in the canoe race (C1) qualifiers. The Brazilian will still be present in the kayak dispute, following Caiaque Cross and in the final by teams, next to her sister Omira.
