On Tuesday, the Austrian government approved new rules on the provision of family allowances for refugees from Ukraine. Passengers will be entitled to family benefits and childcare allowances up to 31 October 2025. After this deadline, they must be employed in Austria or registered at the labor offices so that they can continue to receive them. TASR informs this based on the APA report.
Family benefits will be paid in addition to basic social security benefits. These will continue to be available to all displaced persons. “The displaced persons are also open to the Austrian labor market from the first day,“Said the Minister for Integration Claudia Plakolm.
“This is unquestionable and we continue to do so. At the same time, it is more clear today than ever before that Austria must spend less,“The Minister emphasized. According to her, the exceptions to the new rules will apply to persons under 18 years of age and over 65 years of age, as well as for recipients of increased benefits to serious disability.
