Brazil generated 147,358 with a portfolio signed in August, according to data released on Monday (29) by the Ministry of Labor and Employment. The balance represents a 38% drop compared to the same month of 2024 and is the worst result for the period since 2020, when the new (general register of employees and unemployed) is used.

In the month, 2.24 million admissions and 2.1 million dismissals were recorded. From January to August, the country created more than 1.5 million vacancies, while in the last 12 months the balance was 1.44 million.

Four of the five sectors analyzed had positive balance: (+81.002), (+32,612), (+19,098) and construction (+17,328). A, on the other hand, registered a retraction of 2,665 posts. Among the states, São Paulo led the generation of vacancies, with a balance of 45,450 jobs, followed by Rio de Janeiro (+16,128) and Pernambuco (+12,692).

Average salary

The average real salary of admission in August was R $ 2,295.01, up 0.56% compared to July. In the annual comparison, the advance was 0.86%. Typical workers received, on average, R $ 2,335.35, while non -typical were R $ 2,006.44.
