Em First act as president of the Supreme Court (STF)o Minister Edson Fachin will meet with the Presidents of all courts of the judiciary Brazilian this Tuesday (30), at the headquarters of the Court.
This is the first public act of the new president of the Supreme after the inauguration held on Monday (29). The meeting marks the beginning of its management at the head of the STF and the CNJ (National Council of Justice), in a Judicial System that brings together 92 courts distributed among state, federal, military, labor and electoral spheres.
The Brazilian Judiciary is structured in five segments: Federal Justice and State Justice – both of common jurisdiction – in addition to the Labor Court, Electoral Justice and Military Justice, classified as specialized. Each plays a fundamental role in guaranteeing the rights and in the application of the law in their respective areas.
In addition to the Supreme Court, there are four higher higher bodies: STJ (Superior Court of Justice), STM (Superior Military Court), TSE (Superior Electoral Court) and TST (Superior Labor Court).
Solemnity of possession
Fachin and Minister Alexandre de Moraes were sworn in as president and vice, respectively, to the STF command during the 2025-2027 biennium.
The ceremony brought together authorities from the three powers and governors of different political spectra: the President of the Republic, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT), and the deputy, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), as well as several ministers of the current federal management, such as Fernando Haddad (Fazenda) and Simone Tebet (Planning).
At the event, one, it was symbolic.
The two posted a picture of hands and posed to the press also side by side, holding hands with each other. The gesture signaled a stuffy of the rumors of intrigue between the two parliamentarians and the two houses, amid the filing by the Senate of the PEC (proposed amendment to the Constitution) of the armor.
During a inauguration, Edson Fachin was blunt in defense of democracy, and his projects for the Supreme.
“Our expectation is simple: even in the spread and conflict, to live without renouncing peace. It is democracy that materializes this ideal; however, it is institutionality and justice that make it possible,” he said in one of the excerpts of the speech.
