The German Chancellor Merz warns against the new world order, where the government of raw power threatens stability, and responds to mysterious drones monitored in northern Germany.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Monday that the world is undergoing fundamental changes. “We are not in war, but we are no longer in peace,” he said, according to DPA, TASR writes.

Merz pointed out at the event that organized the Rheinische Post newspaper that the international rules based on rules replaced by the policy of raw power, often accompanied by military force. “We live in a completely different world,” he said.

The German Chancellor expressed concern about the recent drone flies over Denmark and the North German Social Land of Šlezvicko-Holstein. He said that although drones seem unarmed, they are equipped with tracking technology and have a wingspan of up to eight meters. “We still do not know exactly where they come from, but there is a suspicion that they come from Russia,” he said.

“Mastering this threat is difficult, as Germany is densely populated,” Merz said, adding that the eight -meter drone “can’t just shoot down from heaven”.

“It could come across a front garden, kindergarten or hospital. We have to really be careful about what we are doing,” he said, stressing that the best approach would first be to prevent such drones from entering the European airspace, quoting DPA.
