The president of the United States, Donald Trump, appeared yesterday together with the prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, to expose the world not only for Gaza (Palestine), but for every Middle East. Like, recreating, it was explaining the twenty proposals, which includes the release of hostages, the demilitarization of the strip and the permanence of the Gazaties in the area.
There are many lagoons in the reference text, from the fact that the Palestinians will almost not have a voice, but guardianship, to be required to surrender in exchange for uncertain profits, or that only vaguely promises that one day, and only hypothetically, the creation of a Palestinian state will be possible. It is a plan to force, not to agree. Or the Palestinians accept or Tel Aviv will apply the roller and end everything, with the endorsement of Washington. If they comply, Gaza will be a land managed as a company and look.
And, yet, the genocide, the 66,000 dead, the two million people in humanitarian crisis, the million displaced from Gaza’s city is so brutal … that the world sees that something is something and has been dedicated in the last hours to applaud, support and appreciate the Republican project.
The legitimate government of the Palestinians has issued a statement in which it recognizes the “sincere and determined efforts” to finish the Israel War in the enclave by Trump. “The State of Palestine affirms its willingness to get involved positively and constructively with the United States and all parties to achieve peace, security and stability for the peoples of the region,” says the note, published in the news agency.
The ANP also recalls its commitment to an agreement that ensures the sending of humanitarian aid to Gaza, the liberation of prisoners and hostages, the prohibition of annexations of Palestinian territories, the cessation of the forced displacement of Palestinians and the complete withdrawal of Israel.
Hamas has not yet responded to Trump’s plans, but he has done the Palestinian Islamic jihad, another important Islamist armed group that participated in the attacks of October 7, 2023, which has rejected the White House plan and has made it a “recipe for continuous aggression against the Palestinian people.”
In Israel, he was the first to support Trump’s plan and argued that he “coincides” with the “war objectives” of Israel: return to hostages home, dismantle Hamas and “guarantee that Gaza never represents a threat.” However, it has insisted that the Palestinian State will not be a reality, a point that is not clear in the Trump document but should be the logical purpose of the conflict, according to a multitude of resolutions of the United Nations.
The leader of the Israeli opposition, Yair Lapid, said that Trump’s plan “is the right basis for an agreement on hostages and the end of the war.” Benny Gantz, who was Minister of the Israeli War Cabinet and who resigned by differences with Netanyahu’s military plans, asked to implement the proposal: “We cannot miss the opportunity to recover hostages and safeguard our security.” And the relatives of the hostages were also favorable to what could be a “historical agreement” that would “heal” the Israeli people. For them, only a negotiated, and not armed exit can bring back to their own. It is what they have been asking for months.
European and Arabic endorsement
European leaders rushed tonight to welcome the plan, precarious and unequal but that, they understand, is at least one start. The president of the European Council, Antonio Costa, spoke of “satisfaction” and asked the parties “to take advantage of the moment” to get peace. “The situation in Gaza is intolerable,” he recalls, and “hostilities must cease and all hostages must be released immediately.” “Israeli and Palestinian peoples deserve to live next to each other, in peace and security, free of violence and terrorism,” Costa added before defending that “a solution of two states remains the only viable way for a fair and lasting peace in the Middle East.”
The Spanish president himself, has supported the proposal in his X account, where he has expressed: “Spain welcomes the peace proposal for Gaza promoted by the US. We must put an end to so much suffering. It is time for violence to cease, the immediate release of all hostages occurs and access to humanitarian aid for the civilian population is given.” And he added: “The solution of two states, Israel and Palestine, living together with another in peace and security, is the only possible one.”
And along the same lines Western leaders were expressed as the French president, Emmanuel Macron, and the British premier, Keir Starmer. The Gallic applauds “the commitment” of his United States counter Solution of the two states and in the elements agreed by 142 states in the United Nations, at the initiative of Saudi France and Arabia, “said the French president. “France is willing to contribute to it. It will be attentive to the commitments of each of the parties,” Macron warned in four languages: French, English, Hebrew and Arab.
Keir Starmer also understands, on the other hand, that “the new United States initiative to bring the end of the war to Gaza is deeply welcome,” and that is why he wanted to thank the “leadership” of the Chief of the White House. The British prime minister said that Trump’s efforts firmly supported “to end the conflict, free the hostages and ensure the provision of urgent humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza” and continued: “This is our greatest priority and must happen immediately.” And he also called for the parties to join and work with the US administration to end the agreement and make it happen. “Hamas must now accept the plan and end misery by lowering their arms and freeing all the remaining hostages,” he added.
In this sense, Starmer said that, together with the rest of its international partners, he will continue working to achieve a stop on fire and reiterated his commitment to boost a “collective effort” that ends the conflict in the strip and bring with him “a sustainable peace in which Israelis and Palestinians can live next to the other in security.”
One of his former leaders is directly involved: Trump proposed to Tony Blair, who was a prime minister of the United Kingdom between 1997 and 2007, to lead a Transition Council next to him. Blair described the plan as “brave and intelligent” and asked the parties to approve it.
From Italy, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni considered that the White House proposal “could be a turning point” and said her country welcomes her “with satisfaction.”
Foreign ministers from seven Arab and Islamic countries published in these hours a joint statement to thank Trump’s “sincere efforts” and host his proposal to “end the war, rebuild Gaza” and “prevent the displacement of Palestinian people.” In addition to Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, they also signed the Catar and Egypt statement, the two mediating countries between Israel and Hamas together with the United States. The seven governments asked to travel the “path to a fair peace based on a solution of two states.”
The Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, congratulated Trump directly for his “leadership aimed at Pausar the blood bath in Gaza.” And that has called “Nazi” and “genocidal” to Netanyahu in these almost two years of offensive.
Other heavyweights such as Japan and Australia have also lavished applause to the US proposal. The Japanese government talks about an “important step” to achieve peace, I am urged to accept it. “This proposal includes a high fire, the improvement of the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the release of all hostages, points that Japan has supported, therefore, it is an important step to achieve a solution,” said Japanese government spokesman, Yoshimasa Hayashi, in a press conference. Tokyo “highly values Trump’s efforts to end the conflict in Gaza,” he added, and urged Hamas to accept the initiative.
“Hamas should accept these proposals, which are being well valued by neighboring countries and other territories, and, once they reach an agreement, Japan will try to promote Israel to comply with sincerity,” added the Japanese spokesman.
From Sidney, the Vice Prime Australian Minister, Richard Marles, said the “Hope” and “Plan keeps the door open” towards a solution of two states. In statements to Australian public radio ABC Melbourne, Marles stressed that the proposal includes the demands that the Australian government has been claiming: the end of hostilities, the release of hostages and access to humanitarian aid to the strip. “I sincerely hope that they adopt it, because we need to see the end of this conflict,” said Vice Prime Minister, and reiterated that Canberra has been critical of both Hamas and Israel for his behavior in war.
When asked about the future management of Gaza, Marles explained that the Plan foresees the creation of a council composed of “significant international figures” and stressed that any agreement must exclude the annexation of territories or the forced displacement of the population. “The world wants to see the end of this tragedy and the return of hostages to their families,” Marles said, and added that “the only way to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East is with two states, and this plan, as it has been articulated, keeps that possibility open.”
