A head of Hamas in Gaza says that Trump’s plan “legitimizes the occupation”

Waiting for an official reaction from Hamas to the Alto El Fuego Plan presented on Monday by Donald Trump in his press conference with Netanyahu, the director of the Hamas Media Office in Gaza, Ismail Al Thawabta, has expressed in a tweet his rejection of a proposal that describes as “an attempt to impose” a “new guardianship that legitimates the Israeli occupation.”

“The so -called Trump plan to stop the war in Gaza does not represent a real, objective and fair solution, but is an attempt to impose a new guardianship that legitimizes the ‘Israeli’ occupation and strips our Palestinian people of their national, political and human rights,” says the text.

For Al Thawabta, the “only way to stop war is to end the aggression” of Israel, “to raise the unfair block, stop systematic genocide” and give the Palestinians “their right to live, guaranteeing the inalienable rights” of the Palestinian people “to freedom, independence and self -determination, together with the worldwide recognition of the global recognition of our right of our Palestinian people.”

“Any proposal that ignores these rights and treats Gaza as a security entity devoid of sovereignty under international administration faces the complete rejection of the Palestinian national collective consciousness,” continues the message.

The head of Hamas media in the Strip concludes his writing that this is how the militia understands “the relationship between a great people that has made enormous sacrifices and lives under the occupation for 77 years, and the criminal bands of occupation that Palestine occupied without any right and killed hundreds of thousands of children of our people since they stepped on Palestinian”. And concludes: “That the criminal war cease now.”
