The minister took office on Monday afternoon (29), as president of the (Federal Supreme Court). He assumes the position left by, and will be the vice president of the Court.
The ceremony took place at the Supreme Plenary and was attended by authorities of the three powers.
In his speech, Fachin, the target of criticism from the Bolsonarism in the Court because of his performance in cases involving former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), and said the minister deserved the solidarity of his peers. The new president of the Supreme Court also praised the separation of the three powers and the independence of the judiciary.
