United States Vice President JD Vance said he believes the US government is on their way to a stoppage, seeking to blame Democrats a day before the end of federal financing.
“I think we’re moving to a shutdown Because the Democrats won’t do the right thing, ”said Vance on Monday, after a meeting with Congress leaders at the White House.“ I hope they change their minds, but let’s see. ”
President Donald Trump met with the major Democratic and Republican leaders of the Congress less than 48 hours before the deadline, scheduled for October 1st. The two parts left without advances in resolving the demands of Democrats to extend health insurance and reverse cuts in the financing of Medicaid included in Trump’s signed tax legislation earlier this year.

“If he accepts some of the things we ask, which we believe that the American people support, about health and revocation, he can avoid shutdown, but there are still major differences between us,” said Democratic leader in the Senate, Chuck Schumer after the meeting.
The leader of the Senate Republican majority, John Thune, said the refusal of Democrats to approve a short -term bill to keep the government open until November 21 is equivalent to “hostage”, but said he would talk to Democrats after dealing with the immediate funding deadline.
Vance said the Democrats had some positions that the president considered “reasonable.” The vice president mentioned the funding of rural health as a possible area of commitment.

Despite the Senate Republican majority, party leaders need at least eight democratic votes to approve any financing measure and overcome procedural obstacles and the opposition of at least one Republican Senator, Rand Paul, Kentucky.
A shutdown would delay the disclosure of important economic indicators-including the monthly employment report scheduled for Friday-and at least temporarily would remove hundreds of thousands of federal workers, while other employees would be required to work without payment to maintain essential services.
US actions reduced gains after the work statistics office announced Monday morning that it plans not to disclose economic data during a possible stoppage.

Trump threatened to mass federally fired federally firing if the government closes, aggravating the impact on the economy. Historically removed employees return to work when the government reopens and receives retroactive payment for lost salaries. However, agency stoppage plans so far do not mention planned layoffs despite Trump’s threat.
Vance told reporters that “essential services” would continue to work during any stoppage.
A shutdown would be the first since 2018-2019, when government funding expired for five weeks, including New Year’s day during Trump’s first term.

The minority leader in the House, Hakeem Jeffries, told reporters on Monday that Democrats would not accept mere promises to work together in future health policies in exchange for their votes now on a short-term bill to keep the government open.
“No one can trust their word about health,” he said, pointing out that Republicans have been trying for over a decade to revoke Obamacare. “The American people know that this would be something unreasonable.”
Democrats want to spend $ 350 billion to permanently extend Obamacare tax credits to middle -class families to avoid increasing prizes from January 1. They also want the project to revoke Cuts in Medicaid in Trump’s Great Tax Law, including new work requirements and a repression of an accounting maneuver that has allowed states to increase their drug reimbursement rates. They also want to reverse cuts in medical research and prevent the White House from revoking previously approved appropriations.
