A survey of international transparency on public governance placed Acre between states with worst performance in transparency in 2025. The Public Transparency and Governance Index (ITGP) pointed out that Acre obtained only 50 points, leaving only Roraima (48) and Amapá (47).

Despite the low overall score, Acre was one of the three states that provide complete information on the destination of parliamentary amendments, alongside Minas Gerais and the Federal District. This modality of appeal has gained weight in state and federal budgets and, according to experts, requires rigorous supervision to avoid irregularities.

According to the report, the Baixa of Acre note reveals weaknesses in areas such as:

  • Disclosure of the progress of public works;

  • Detail of the financial and physical execution of the projects;

  • Lack of permanent structures of social control and combat corruption.

The study shows that only three states in Brazil present complete information about the level of physical execution of works and only five about financial execution – Acre is not among them.

In an interview with Estadão, Renato MorgadoProgram Manager for International Transparency, the absence of detailed data increases the risk of corruption: “Transparency is a mechanism of prevention as it discourages acts of corruption and detection of corruption.”

He also pointed out that the growth of so -called “pix amendments” – direct transfers of resources to states without agreements – reinforces the need for clear and accessible information to society.

As states such as Espírito Santo (95 points), Goiás (93), Minas Gerais (89) and Ceará (89) were evaluated as “great” performance, Acre appears in the final part of the list, classified only as “regular”.

The national average was 69.8 points, considered “good” by the entity.
