Brazilian coach Carlo Ancelotti called on Wednesday (1st) the 26 players for friendly against South and Japan in October.

In his third call, the coach first called striker Rodrygo, with whom he worked at Real Madrid, and came back to summon Vinicius Junior, who had been out of the last list.

Although not playing so regularly in the Spanish team, every time he entered, Rodrygo played well and has shown to be in good physical condition, Ancelotti said, adding that “like all players, he is very motivated to be here.”

The coach also said that the striker is “very important” for the national team, because he could act in different positions of the attack. “I believe he can add a lot to the national team.”

With the end of the qualifiers in September, the Italian coach should take advantage of the matches to promote the latest tests and start defining the team for the World Cup dispute, between June 11 and July 19.

“I think many of these players will be in the World Cup,” said Ancelotti.

The coach chose to privilege players who work in Europe, to avoid a greater displacement of those who work in Brazil, and also considering the issue of adaptation of the time zone.

The match against the South Koreans will take place on October 10, at 8am (Brasília time), in Seoul. Following, Brazil will face Japan, on the 14th, at 7:30 am, in Tokyo.

In the last confrontation with South Korea, for the round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup, Brazil won 4-1, with goals from Vinicius Junior, Neymar, Richarlison and Lucas Paquetá.

The Brazilian National Team faced Japan for the last time in 2022, with a 1-0 win, Neymar’s goal.

After the friendlies with the Asian teams, the intention of the CBF is to play against African teams in November and European “level A” in March and June 2026.
