Brazil registered 28,214 fire outbreaks in September 2025. There was a 66% reduction in relation to the same month of 2024, when the country had 83,154 occurrences of the type. The data are from the system of the (National Institute for Space Research).
From January 1 to September 30, 2025, 75,745 fire outbreaks were recorded in Brazil. A 64% reduction compared to 210,205 occurrences of the type verified in the same period as 2024.
Brazil is in the fire season.
In September 2025, Maranhão was the best hit state, with 4,595 fire outbreaks. Following are Bahia (3,337), Pará (2,967) and Minas Gerais (2,897).
