Deputy José Dotti
Deputy José Dotti will have violated the Statute of Deputies by entering into a trade contract with a public entity, through the company of which he owns and manager. The contract signed omits Dotti’s identity.
A Thorn – Trade in industrial equipment, company managed by José Dottientered into a contract of € 35,200 (plus VAT) with the union of parishes of Castanheira do Ribatejo and Cachoeiras.

Law provides for loss of mandate

- Point 6 of article 21 of the Deputy Statute clarifies that parliamentarians are prevented from “participating in public hiring procedures, pursuant to the regime of office by holders of political positions and high public positions”.
- Point 3 of article 9 of the regime of exercise of functions by holders of political positions and high public positions (Law No. 52/2019, of July 31) indicates that “the holders of political positions or high public positions, by themselves or in the companies in which they perform management functions, and the companies arrested in a percentage of more than 10% of the respective capital” – not participated in this case in public hiring procedures ”.
- Finally, point 1 of article 11 (sanctioning regime) provides, in this situation, “The loss of the respective mandate”.
José Dotti, 62, is the leader of the Fome de Santarém District and is a candidate for the Benavente Municipal Assembly in the municipalities of October 12.
