The Festival EDidas D’On Monte returns to São Marcos da Serra, in the municipality of Silves, between October 3rd and 5th, with a program that combines gastronomy, tradition and popular music.
Organized by Serrano Futebol Clube, the event has as its motto “a trip to the old days”, recreating traditional flavors of the mountain village and preserving memories of life in the countryside.
Known for the homemade bread and the bowl, São Marcos da Serra is located inside the Algarve, by the Alentejo border, which is reflected in its gastronomy, marked by influences from the two regions. Among the typical dishes that can be tasted, stand out Açorda, Corn Popes and Migas, made in a traditional way and served in an environment decorated with utensils of other times.
In all, six local restaurants will recreate recipes transmitted between generations, offering visitors a real time trip through the taste.
It takes place in the park of lunch, next to the São Marcos da Serra Municipal Stadium, opening at 18:00 on Friday and Saturday and 11:00 on Sunday.
In addition to gastronomy, the event includes a musical poster with names such as Sérgio Rossi (October 3), José Malhoa (October 4) and Emanuel and Tânia (October 5, in the afternoon), as well as ball artists who promise to cheer up every day of celebration.
According to the organization, the goal is to revive memories, value traditions and share the roots of the village with visitors from all over the region.
