Work or rest? Next year, holidays favor early planning on business days, ideal for mending and enjoying a little more
Good news for those who already think about next year’s rest: in 2026, nine of the ten national holidays will fall on business days, according to the federal government’s technical opinion based on the next calendar.
In addition, seven of these dates will coincide with Mondays or Fridays, which greatly increases the chances of forming holidays without having to “ask for extra clearance.”
Although the official ordinance with the optional points has not yet been published, the pattern already observed indicates that dates such as Tiradentes (Tuesday) and Corpus Christi (Thursday) may be “amended” with holidays, depending on local decisions or companies.
