President Lula (PT) endorsed this Wednesday (1st) at the end of the obligation to attend the school to take the CNH (National Driver’s License), as it seeks to cheapen the cost of the document, according to Minister Renan Filho (Transportes).
After the petista ok, the next step will be to hold a public hearing by the Ministry of Transport. The consultation will be launched this Thursday (2) and will last 30 days.
“The obligation of school has created an exclusionary system and people drive without wallet, which is the worst of all worlds,” says the minister. “And President Lula is making an important decision, because what Brazil has is exclusion.”
Renan Filho compares the obligation of the school to the requirement that students who want to take the entrance exam to public universities have to attend cram. “This is it,” he says.
Practical and theoretical classes would be given by autonomous instructors approved in the test to be applied by the federal government. The measure would be published in the form of Contran (National Traffic Council) resolution.
