Deputy Rafael Prudente bill provides for the inclusion of artificial intelligence teaching in the curricula of public and private schools across the country

Federal Deputy Rafael Prudente (MDB-DF) presented to Bill No. 1,956/2025, which provides for the inclusion of the teaching of public and private schools from all over the country, from elementary to middle school. The initiative aims to prepare students for the challenges of an increasingly digitized job market. “Artificial intelligence is already part of our daily lives. Now it’s time to prepare our young people to master this technology,” Prudente said.

According to the project, in elementary school, students will have contact with digital technologies, computational thinking, digital ethics and technological culture. In high school, the focus will be more deepened, addressing AI fundamentals, its practical applications and the social, ethical and economic impacts of technology.

Rafael Prudente also points out that AI can be a tool to optimize school management, customize learning and support teachers, but reinforces the importance of teaching training and egalitarian access to technology. “Teaching about IA is to teach critical thinking, digital responsibility and open new possibilities for the future,” he said.

The project currently processes the Education Commission and should be voted in the House plenary this semester, paving the way for Brazilian schools to prepare students for an increasingly connected and technological world.
