On the morning of Wednesday, 1, the president of the Legislative Assembly of Acre (Aleac), Deputy Nicolau Júnior signed the Cooperation Agreement between the Assembly, the Regional Electoral Court (TRE/AC) and the State Government, through the State Secretariat of Education (SEE), for the realization of the 2025 edition of the Youth Parliamentary Project. The project aims to provide high school students, public schools, the practical experience of the legislative process.
“This project promotes citizenship, strengthens democracy and encourages our young people to be more involved in the work that is done here at Casa do Povo. In addition, we believe that in each edition new young leaders are discovered,” said the president of the house.

The project is in its fourth edition, and during development, besides having a vote in schools to choose representatives, promotes lectures and workshops that strengthen the construction of citizenship and democracy.
“The most important of this is the appropriate knowledge and information for our young people. At this point they know the number of parliamentarians in ours, what each has to do and what their rights are. This is involving schools, institutions, so that these young people are our future parliamentarians,” explained the president of TER, Judge Valdirene Cordeiro.

The Secretary of Education, Aberson Carvalho, sees as an excellent opportunity for training for young people and approximation with the population. “Often the population distances themselves from this process, and when you enter schools taking these activities and then bringing these students to know Parliament, it clearly shows a political formation, a participation of that young man who will be voters and our leaders in the future,” he said.
