A New York promoter has asked the hip-hop star whose real name is Sean Combs, to be sentenced to more than 11 years in prison. The currently arrested rapper will know his sentence on Friday before the court he judged him. At 55, Combs was accused of obliging two ex-girlfriends to maintain unpaid sex with other men, with the help of employees who covered their actions.

In July, he was acquitted of the most serious accusations, including illicit association and could result in life imprisonment. However, it was considered guilty of two trafficking crimes for prostitution purposes.

Federal prosecutor Jay Clayton justified the requested penalty by highlighting the severity of the crimes and the lack of regret of Combs. “In similar cases, convictions greater than ten years have been applied. The defendant tries to present decades of abuse as simple consequences of mutually toxic relationships. But nothing is ‘mutual’ when one party holds all power,” Clayton wrote.

The defense of the rapper and businessman asked the penalty not to exceed 14 months, which would allow his release later this year, considering the period already served in pre -trial detention.
