In the Information War, Russia accuses Ukraine of conducting an operation that, after all, may be preparing
Russia and Belarus may be preparing sabotage operations with special forces against Poland and blaming Ukraine, says the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), think tank American, in its last report.
On Tuesday, the Russian Foreign Information Service (SVR) claimed that Ukraine is preparing to conduct an attack on Polish critical infrastructures. This attack would be performed by Russian and Belarusian citizens of the Legion of Freedom of Russia (LSR), pro-Ucranian, and the Kastuś Kalinoŭski regiment. The SVR said the troops will be passed by members of the Russian and Belarusian special forces at a press conference after being captured by the Polac security forces and that the pro-Ukrainian troops will blame Russia and Belarus by the incident.
The SVR also said that Ukraine will try to take advantage of recent drone forays into NATO’s airspace to ignite anti -russial feeling in Poland, accelerate the escalation of war and incite European countries to intervene in the war on behalf of Ukraine.
But, according to ISW, Kremlin will have ordered SVR to disclose this statement to avoid responsibility for a possible future Russian and Belarusian sabotage operation against Poland.
According to the institute, Kremlin often resorts to SVR to spread unfounded allegations of imminent attacks, as part of misinformation campaigns designed to weaken Ukraine support and sow doubts about the nature of Russia’s own provocations against NATO Member States.
