You need it to prepare it:

  • dark grapes – 3 kg,
  • sugar – 450 g,
  • lemon juice – ¼ cup,
  • 1.5 teaspoons of ground cardamom (optional).

How to prepare grape jam?

  1. Wash the grapes and tear off the bunch.
  2. Then put them into a pot, backfill with sugar and cardamom if you want to add it.
  3. The grapes are lightly crushed, e.g. with a pestle and cook slowly for about 30 minutes, until most of the water evaporates. Mix from time to time so that they do not stick to the bottom of the dish.
  4. Wipe the fruit through a sieve to separate the skin and seeds from them. Use a spoon to squeeze the rest of the flesh from them.
  5. Boil again, add lemon juice.
  6. Delight, cook the fruit for about 20 minutes until the jam begins to thicken.

When the jam is ready, transfer hot to scalded jars, turn off and pasteurize to extend their freshness.

Ready grape jam has a sweet taste with a felt sour note. It looks a bit like blackcurrant jam, thanks to which it is widely used in the kitchen. It is perfect for lubrication of sandwiches, pancakes or waffles. You can add it to porridge or yogurt.
