US President Donald Trump said the country will probably have a stoppage in the government activities (Shutdown) during a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, 30. The Republican stressed differences in the priorities of his agenda and opposition on various matters such as immigration and transit rights.
“We don’t want a shutdown, but we can do a lot of things that will be bad for democrats, and irreversible by them. We can change budgets in ways that could not be done before, such as cutting benefits to thousands of people,” he said, adding that this is a “risk” being taken by the opposition.
Minutes earlier, Trump had classified the conversation with Congress Democratic leaders, Deputy Hakeem Jeffries and Senator Chuck Schumer, as “good” and stated that he was ready to “see what happens” about Shutdown.

Regarding the announcement of drug price reduction, the Republican said it intends to rely on pharmacists who do not agree with an extra 5% to 8% rate. He also reiterated that the government is working to reduce health insurance costs.
When asked, Trump said he is not against the total entry of immigrants in the country, but intends to keep his borders closed. “We want immigrants, but they come legally,” he said.
The president also defended the interference of national troops in American cities to promote “more security.” “Democratic governors should be begging us to send troops,” he said.
