A State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) announced on Tuesday (30) the unilateral termination of the Academic Cooperation Agreement with the Technological Institute Technological, Israel.
“The situation has deteriorated in such a way that violations of human rights and the dignity of the Palestinian population became an unacceptable constant,” says the document that justifies the breakup.

University rector Paulo Cesar Montagner said Unicamp had already spoken out against the situation in the Gaza Strip on two other opportunities and that the Break is the reaffirmation of “position contrary to the genocide of the Palestinian population”.
According to Montagner, the disruption decision follows the same line as the Brazilian government’s position – which condemns Israeli actions in the region – and other universities around the world that were contrary to the situation imposed on the Gaza Strip.
The agreement provided for a partnership in research and exchange projects for teachers, researchers and graduate and graduation students.
The embassy of Israel in Brazil was sought by the report, but has not yet manifested itself. The space is still open to demonstrations.
