Former Television reporter and adventurer Rasťo Ekkert (61) was one of the stars in his fach. Gradually, however, there were problems, alcohol and subsequently ended up on treatment. His life today looks completely different. In his own words, he will wander to death.

Under one post on a social network, the commentators told him to look for a job. “I worked for 40 years, I gave my daughters because I no longer need it and I will wander and paint to death, because I want and enjoy it … ” Explained by the former jojkár. His paintings could be viewed at the beginning of the year at the exhibition at the plain in Trenčín.

A native Bratislavaian began to draw and paint at an early age. He attended the weekend studio of Július Koller. Due to the difficulty of reporting work, he had not had time or peace for the systematic creation for many years. He found it alone in solitude in the wilderness of the Muran Plateau, where he moved almost ten years ago.

Shortly after the end of the exhibition on the social network, he informed that he was embarking on travel. In the summer he started a pilgrimage on the road of the heroes of the SNP. It is an unforgettable hike, which is almost 770 km long and leads across Slovakia, from the northeast of the country (Dukliansky Pass) to the west (Devín). “I’m already in the finals, so slowly I recap. For three years I wandered in a vicious circle, SNP is a medicine and thank you“the former reporter confessed at the end of September.

Before the end of the long journey, he ran to the neighboring Czech Republic and noticed one thing. “Red is very helpful here. Every few kilometers shop, café, cottage and are open on Sunday. In the east of Slovakia I went for six days without trade. Hetters, come to me! I love Slovakia but I’m not blind, ” wrote Ekkert on Facebook.
