According to a team led by geophysics Charlotte Gaugne Gouranton of the University of Paris (France), this redistribution was probably the result of a Material phase change at about 3,000 kilometers deep, close to the lower border of the cloak.
The team’s work still needs to be confirmed, but there are other implications. Seismic data revealed Strange masses of material near the earth’s core which seem to have different properties from the surrounding material.
Changes in the gravitational field may be associated with changes in mass distribution to the surface, such as Changes in Reservoirs groundwater, Glacial melting and sea level variationsall which manifest themselves as minor changes in the planetary gravitational field.
As a recall, the proposed location of the phase change of the 2007 gravitational anomaly was very close to one of these masses, which may mean that the Two phenomena are connected.
“When analyzing gravitational gravity gradient series derived from the grace, we identified an anommal signal of large -scale gravitational gradient in the East Atlantic Ocean, maximum in early 2007, which cannot be fully explained by surface water sources or core fluid flows,” writing the researchers, cited by the same magazine.
“This leads us to suggest that at least part of this sign can reflect rapid mass redistributions inside the cloak,” they added.
