The last exchange of prisoners among the opposing countries occurred at the end of August, when Kiev and Moscow handed over 300 captured soldiers.
AFP recalls that the exchanges of prisoners of war are the result of three rounds of negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegation, which took place in Istanbul, Turkey from May to July.
