Minister said that despite the changes, the project unanimously approved was ‘very well designed’ on the farm for a year and gained appreciation of technicians, economists and public opinion
The Minister of Finance, said this Thursday (2) believed that the bill that exempts from Those who earn up to $ 5,000 will have the same support in the Senate they had in the House. The measure was approved on the night of Wednesday (1st) unanimously from the deputies present, with 493 votes. “I believe we will have as large support in the Senate as we had in the House, with a historical vote of 493 votes, without any vote against,” he said, upon arriving at the ministry’s headquarters.
Haddad praised the mayor, and the proposal rapporteur, Arthur Lira (PP-AL). The minister stated that the project approved, despite the changes, was “very well designed” on the farm for a year and gained appreciation – according to him – technicians, economists and public opinion. According to Haddad, this Wednesday was a day of “gathering”, when he received many congratulations for the approval of the measure. The minister repeated that the proposal should benefit from exemption or discount of going about 15 million people.
“The project is anchored in the fiscal balance. It does not increase the collection, does not decrease the collection, what it seeks is – with fiscal balance – tax justice,” he added. Haddad also evaluated that approval unanimously on Wednesday gives hope about what it is possible to build with Congress. He said he has not yet talked to Senate President David Alcolumbre (Union-AP), but will do so soon. And he repeated that there should be no problems for the approval of the text also in the upper house.
“I do not believe there will be problems, including because this project, he does not just seek tax justice, he seeks tax justice with fiscal neutrality,” he emphasized. The Minister of Finance said it was very early to say anything about the project that the government will have to send to Congress within a year to regulate the readjustment of the income tax table. The change was accepted by the rapporteur to the House approved.
