Israeli Navy holds Flotilla to Gaza; Chancellery states action without incidents

Disting on “Various Boats” from Flotilha to Without incidents, the Israeli Foreign Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after the organizers of the humanitarian initiative announced that the vessel group had been intercepted by the Israeli forces. “Several flotilha boats (…) have been detained with total security and their passengers are being transferred to an Israeli port,” the X’s chancel said.

“Greta and her friends are well and safe,” added the ministry, which included in the publication a brief video of Swedish activist Greta Thunberg collecting his belongings, surrounded by armed men. In the morning it decreases Wednesday, the Israeli Navy ordered the change of route from a flotilla that tries to reach the Gaza Strip with humanitarian aid and is close to Palestinian territory, the Foreign Ministry said.

“The Israeli Navy contacted … with the flotilla and asked to change the route,” the ministry said in a statement. “Israel informed the flotilla that it is approaching an active combat zone and is violating a legitimate naval blockade,” he added. The activists aboard the flotilla, which has about 45 boats and in which, among others, the Brazilian activist Thiago Ávila and the Swedish Greta Thunberg, explained, in turn, to be “surrounded by Israeli war ships.”
