Teams from the Amazonas Military Police Environmental Battalion (PMAM), the Municipal Secretariat of Animal Protection and Defense (Sepet) and a feline specialist joined efforts to safely remove the animal. According to the organs, the jaguar showed signs of exhaustion after hours swimming against the strong current of the river.
After the rescue, the feline received immediate veterinary care at a specialized clinic and undergoes evaluation to ensure its full recovery. There is still no definition of the final destination of the animal, which can be sent to the Jungle War Instruction Center (Cigs), Ibama or the Manaus Zoo.
