Lawyers Celso Vilardi, Paulo Amador da Cunha Bueno and Daniel Tesser asked Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Court (STF) to authorize their telephone contact with former President of the Republic Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
Criminalists live and have offices in São Paulo. As the former president is under house arrest in Brasilia, without access to social networks or cell phone, the only way to talk to him is personally, which demands travel to the Federal District and, according to the defense, “makes personal contact deer and costly.”
Lawyers say that Bolsonaro access restrictions cause “limitation” and “losses to broad defense rights.”

Criminalists also argue that contact is important for the “need for frequent consultations about procedural progress and defense strategies.”
The defense also requested the revocation of house arrest.
The former president is arrested at home as a result of the investigation on the attempt to obstruct the trial of the coup plot, which led to his conviction.

The former president is also investigated because he funded his son and because he would be the beneficiary of the pressures about the Federal Supreme Court.
House arrest was decreed because Bolsonaro failed to comply with restrictions imposed by the Supreme.
