According to data from the State Department of Health, there are at least 22 notifications of cases of poisoning, seven confirmed and 15 still under analysis. All deaths so far are from men, aged 38 to 58 years.

Local authorities blocked bars and cellars suspected of marketing adulterated drinks and seized hundreds of bottles without label or proof of origin. The São Paulo government created a crisis office and determined the precautionary closure of establishments until the investigation is completed.
