The Federal Police investigated an attempted fraud against President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT), involving his retirement of political amnesty, in the amount of R $ 12.5 thousand.

The coup sought to transfer the benefit, paid in São Bernardo do Campo (SP), to the account of a resident of Pará. The operation, however, was blocked by the INSS before the executive chief was detrimental.

The documents, obtained by CNN Brazilwhich detail the episode arrived at the INSS CPMI in Congress. In them, PF delegate Carlos Henrique Pinheiro de Melo asked the municipality to have additional information about the case, such as a place of service, any documents presented and even images of security cameras that could clarify the authorship of the request.

Safety alert

The portability request was registered in March 2023, when the INSS presidency called the Federal Police after identifying suspicious movements.

The report indicates that Lula’s account on the digital platform “My INSS” was remotely accessed, which generated internal security alert.

Despite the evidence, the investigations could not unequivocally identify the author of the alleged coup. The owner of the account in Pará, which would be the destination of the benefit, denied participation and said he was the victim of third parties.

The Federal Public Prosecution Service assessed that there were no steps capable of safely pointing out the authorship.

Without the identification of the official and without clear technical records – such as the IP of origin of the electronic request – the MPF requested the filing of the investigation, accepted by the court.
