Putin warns that response to European militarization will be "very inviting"

In his speech, he said that Moscow is “closely monitoring the growing militarization of Europe” to realize if they are “only words”

Russian President Vladimir Putin said today that he closely follows “the growing militarization of Europe” and warned that the response “will not be delayed” and “will be very convincing” as European countries increase defense investments.

“The answer to the threats will be at least very convincing. I refer to the answer. We themselves have never started a military confrontation,” Putin said during the Valdai discussion forum in Sochi, southwest Russia.

The Kremlin leader accused Europe from preventing a solution to the war in Ukraine, which began with the Russian invasion in February 2022, and to “continually intensify” the conflict.

In his speech, he said that Moscow is “closely monitoring the growing militarization of Europe” to realize if they are “only words”, or concrete actions that will lead to counterfeit.

Vladimir Putin urged the European Union (EU) leaders to fail to focus on the “Russian threat” and focus on solving the problems of their own countries.

“Honestly, I feel like saying, calm down, sleep in peace, finally deal with your own problems,” he said.

The Russian President disagreed with the expression “paper tiger” used by US President Donald Trump to define Russia, maintaining that his country’s forces are not only fighting in Ukraine, but also with the born.

“If we are at war with the whole block of NATO and we are moving forward, moving, with confidence, we will be just a paper tiger? What is the NATO? What does it really represent?” He asked.

Alternatively, he added that whenever he was threatened, Russia proved it responds quickly and warned that “there is no need” to be caused.

The Russian leader continued his criticism of Europe, who accuses from preventing a solution to war in Ukraine and “continually intensifying it.”

Revisiting Kremlin’s usual narrative, he also addressed the origins of the conflict, accusing “those who considered themselves victorious” at the end of the Cold War of imposing “unilateral and subjective security conceptions” on all.

“This has become the real root cause not only of the Ukrainian conflict, but also of many other serious conflicts” from the early 21st century, he argued, defending a “multipolar world” against the West.

After three and a half years of war in Ukraine, Putin claimed that Russian troops advance with confidence throughout the front line.

“In the Sumy region, Yunakivka’s village has just been under our control. Vovchansk has been partially captured and is just a matter of time until our troops take the rest. We are safely building a security zone there. This work is taking place without problems, calmly and according to the planned,” Putin said.

The Southern Russian Forces Group “entered the city of Konstantinovka”, part of the Konstantinovka-Slaviansk-Kramatorsk axis, he said.

“These (defensive) lines have been prepared for over 10 years with the help of Western experts,” he said.

In addition, Russian soldiers are already fighting in Sivorsk, a relatively large, as well as Krasnoaymersk, “he added.

However, and after their strong offensive in the summer months, Russian troops did not get decisive changes in the theater of operations.
