Lisa Cook, a member of the Board of Directors of the Federal Bank (FED), whose dismissal is being pursued by President Donald Trump, will remain in place for the time being, as the US Supreme Court has today refused to examine the case with the urgency proceedings.
The court, where the majority of the conservative judges, announced that it would hear the arguments on both sides in January 2026.
President Trump believed that he had the right to immediately dismiss the administrator, who accuses him of submitting false information to banks when he requested to receive a personal, housing loan before her appointment to the Fed. Cook is said to have presented two separate houses, in different states, as her first residence.
The first African -American appointed to this position by former President Joe Biden immediately appealed to the courts to remain in place. The White House then tried to prevent her from attending the Fed meeting that would discuss interest rates in mid -September. At that meeting, the Commission, which decides on monetary policy, reduced interest rates by a quarter of the unit and Cook was among those who voted in favor.
