The Algarve Forum will host, on October 4th and 5th, the “Educar” initiative, an environmental education project developed in partnership with Zoomarine, which aims to sensitize children and adults to the importance of ocean preservation and the impact of pollution on marine species.
The action will take place on the center floor of the shopping center, in front of Timberland and Swarovski stores, from 11:00 and 13:00 and from 14:00 to 19:00. The program includes various interactive and educational activities, including the simulation of sea turtle rehabilitation and the observation of biological materials such as turtle scales, shark eggs and teeth.
To warn of the consequences of human actions, materials found in animals that were rehabilitation in Porto d’Abrigo do Zoomarine will also be displayed, such as fishing nets and hooks. In addition to scientific and pedagogical activities, the youngest will be available to color, while adults will be able to deepen the informative content prepared for the initiative.
The director of, Sérgio Santos, highlighted the relevance of the partnership: “It is with great satisfaction that we established this partnership with Zoomarine and welcome this initiative in the Forum Algarve. ‘Educar’ represents an excellent opportunity to educate our community, in a fun and interactive way, about the importance of protecting marine ecosystems. We believe that awareness is the first step towards change.”
