The Civil Police of the arrested on Wednesday (1) the doctor and former state deputy for Iram de Almeida Saraiva Júnior, under the suspicion of raping her own daughter, 2 years old. He was captured at home in Barra da Tijucain the West Zone of the capital of Rio de Janeiro, after six months of investigation. According to police, the agents collected and analyzed testimonials of witnesses, as well as reports from a pediatrician and a psychologist. Before being arrested, Saraiva Júnior, who was also a councilman in Goiânia, was the target of a search and seizure warrant, in which he had to deliver his mobile phone to analyze the police. Former political, Saraiva Junior acted as councilor at the Goiânia City Council, by the PMDB, between 1997 and 1999, when he resigned to the mandate when he was elected state deputy. In the Legislative Assembly, he acted for two legislatures: from 1999 to 2003 and, when reelected, from 2003 to 2007. Iram Saraiva Júnior is the son of Iram de Almeida Saraiva, who also had a political career as councilor, state deputy, senator and minister of the Federal Court of Audit. The father died in 2020.
The suspect is a doctor and training lawyer. In his social networks, he says he has a law school from the University of Brasilia in 1996, and in medicine from the Souza Technical-Educational Foundation in 2022. He also informs that, professionally, he became director of a college between 2003 and 2005, and about three years ago operates in an ophthalmological hospital in Niterói.
