In the Arabia desert, an ancient rock painting was discovered

The old inhabitants of the Arabian desert created monumental rorest works on rocks, including images with camels in natural size, probably to indicate water sources.

The first discoveries of prehistoric art in the Nefud desert in Saudi Arabia date from 2022. In a relatively short time, almost two hundred images have been discovered.

According to information, they describe 176 images on 62 panels. These include 90 camels in natural size, 15 other images with smaller shirts and two fingerprints of camel hooves, reports Noi.md with reference to.

One of the platforms of the old exhibition, on which is represented a three -meter dromedar, is located on a rock at a height of over 40 m, and the researchers could not safely reach it and examine it without using a drone.

Next to the camels, which emphasizes how favorable the climate was at that time, are represented by other large animals, including goats, horses, gases and rifts. The team also discovered human figures and engraved faces.

According to the researchers, the images could have been carved to warn the foreigners that the land was already busy or to serve as an indicator to temporary water sources. The new discoveries complete the evidence regarding the extended colonization of Saudi Arabia in the prehistoric period.
