Road is 182 km and offers landscapes that even resemble movie scenery
In southern Florida, a road is no longer just one way and became a tourist destination.
Overseas Highway is 182 kilometers and connects the continent to the paradise Florida Keys, joining 44 islands with bridges over the turquoise sea.
The trip has already been considered one of the most scenic in the United States, dividing the list with legendary routes such as Route 66 and Pacific Coast Highway. No wonder, many call it “the most beautiful highway in the world.”
The most famous point is Seven Mile Bridge, built in the early 20th century and for years was one of the largest bridges on the planet.
Today, the old version has become a trail for pedestrians and cyclists, with a view of 360 degrees to the ocean.
Along the way, cities like Key Largo, Islamorada and Marathon offer boat rides, diving and sport fishing.
In Big Pine Key, you can find endangered deer and visit postcard beaches, such as Bahia Honda State Park.
The road ends in Key West, a destination that mixes Caribbean culture, historic houses and even Ernest Hemingway’s former residence.
