Company states that agency analyzes ignore mandatory parameters and confuse gasoline with industrial by -products

Refit reported on Friday (3.out.2025) that will technically contest the reports presented by (National Petroleum Agency) on the quality of products classified as gasoline.

According to the refinery, the agency’s reports analyzed only the distillation curve, disregarding essential criteria provided for in resolutions 807/2020 and 988/2025, which define the parameters so that a fuel is considered gasoline ready for consumption.

Between the ignored requirements, according to Refit, are minimal octagethe composition of hydrocarbons, the density and the sulfur limit.

Octage, for example, is decisive for vehicle use: ordinary gasoline should be at least 93 ron, while petrochemical naphtha and natural gas condensate have much lower values, making them inadequate for engines.

Refit warns that if the products do not meet all legal criteria, they must be classified as Petrochemical gasoline or natural gas condensateintended only for industrial and petrochemical use.

The company intends to bring the contestation to the ANP and, if necessary, to other regulatory and judicial instances.

“It is unacceptable that analyzes conducted by the regulatory organ itself is limited to the distillation curve, ignoring the mandatory parameters”says Refit.
